Initial 3 day hire

A handheld card reader for taking payments wherever you're trading. A compact option when you don’t need a full till. If you know it as a PDQ machine, a chip and pin machine or a card terminal, this is the device.

Providers, pricing, deposits and how long you can keep it.

What to arrange before a one-day hire →

Yes. Tell us what you sell and where you'll be trading, and we'll recommend a provider and equipment that fit. The account is opened in your name and stays yours, and the takings go to you from the first payment. Providers run their own identity checks, so start before your first trading day.

Every job is quoted, because equipment, dates, location and service level all change the price. Send a request and you'll get one itemised quote covering everything. Nothing is charged until you accept it.

From one day. The hire price covers up to three days for a Payment Device and up to seven for a till. Need it for longer? Let us know and we'll quote the full run.

Yes. Zettle, which started life as iZettle, is now PayPal POS, and our PayPal Terminal and PayPal tills run on it. You sign in with your own PayPal Business account. Send your dates and we'll quote it, and the same goes for a SumUp or Square reader.

Yes. PDQ machine, chip and pin machine, card terminal or credit card machine: whatever you call it, the Payment Device is a handheld card reader that takes chip and PIN and contactless payments on your own SumUp, Square, PayPal or Shopify account.

Yes. Event venues, festivals, fairs and markets are what the Payment Device is for: a battery-powered handheld reader you can take to the customer. For a bar or a merchandise counter, hire a complete till with a cash drawer. Send your dates and location and we'll send an itemised hire quote.

No. A request is an enquiry. You'll get a written quote to accept, and no equipment is reserved and nothing is charged until you do.

Payment Devices usually have no deposit. Complete tills need a refundable security deposit, charged with your hire payment and refunded once the equipment is back with us and checked. Your quote sets out the amount before you book.
